The SaferSEA project, supported by Interreg Atlantic Area, is launching a Call for Challenges to drive innovation in maritime safety and sustainability.

SaferSEA aims to create a safer and more conscious maritime sector, by providing stakeholders with practical solutions to support the green transition. The project encourages the development of innovative technologies for ships and ports, strengthening collaboration between researchers, port authorities and startups in the Atlantic Area.

The call will focus on 3 key topics:

  • Decarbonisation: transition to new fuels and energy sources for ships.
  • Pollution: addressing issues related to marine pollution, such as oil spills, plastic waste and loss of containers at sea.
  • Safety at sea: improving maritime traffic management, seafarer safety, reducing collisions, and optimizing rescue operations.

Who can apply?

The call is open to all stakeholders in the shipping industry, including Startups, SMEs, Corporates, Port authorities, Shipbuilders, Digital service providers, Non-profit organisations, and Technological and Research Centres.
