The Ocean Hackathon® 2025 is officially open for challenge submissions for the local edition in El Puerto de Santa María (Cadiz, Spain). The local event is promoted by CEEI Bahía de Cádiz under the framework of the SaferSEA Project, in collaboration with Campus Mondial de la Mer, and the deadline of applications is May 15th 2025.

What is Ocean Hackathon®?

Ocean Hackathon® is a 48-hour, non-stop event where teams develop innovative prototypes and explore practical applications using marine data. This initiative offers participants the opportunity to work alongside ocean and digital experts, data providers, and entrepreneurs to address key maritime challenges.

 

How does it work?

  • A call for challenges is open to collect innovative project proposals.
  • Selected teams will work intensively during the hackathon weekend to develop their solutions.
  • The winning team from each location will advance to the International Grand Finale in Brest, France, with an opportunity to win prizes sponsored by Ocean Hackathon Ambassadors.

 

Who can join?

Entrepreneurs, researchers, students, developers, and professionals in the maritime industry who are eager to contribute to innovation in the Blue Economy are welcome to join.
