The Interreg Atlantic Area programme presented at its Annual Event, in Bordeaux, the next call for proposals, which will support with 43 million euros of European funds transnational cooperation projects involving at least one partner from Portugal, Spain, France and Ireland.
The new call opens on November 25 and it was presented at the Centre de Congrès Cité Mondiale, in Bordeaux, in the scope of the Atlantic Week to encourage the networking between potential beneficiaries.
The support is aimed at investments in three of the program's priority areas – Blue Innovation and Competitiveness; Blue and Green Environment; Culture and Sustainable Tourism – which implement, for example, pilot projects, action plans or training programs.
The new projects will bring together public and private institutions, in partnerships that should be led by public bodies, education and research organizations, private non-profit institutions and international organizations. Partners have until February 14 to apply for funding.
The digitization of blue economy sectors that adapt to climate change, the strengthening of entrepreneurship and self-employment models in digital sectors, the adoption of measures that increase energy efficiency and risk mitigation in coastal and near-coastal areas, the sharing of good practices to support the circular economy, the restoration of degraded ecosystems or actions to promote cultural, rural, sports, nautical tourism, etc. associated with combined products, cultural events and cultural routes are some examples of projects that could be supported with a 75% funding rate.
