Interreg Atlantic Area 2014-2020 is a European funding programme that promotes transnational cooperation among 36 Atlantic regions of five European countries. With a total budget of € 185M, being €140M of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this programme cofinances cooperation projects in the fields of Innovation & Competitiveness, Resource Efficiency, Territorial Risks Management, Biodiversity and Natural & Cultural Assets. Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 was formally approved by the European Commission on the 8th of September 2022. With a new Programme, we renew the commitment with the Atlantic regions in the support of innovative initiatives that contribute to the growth of this area, solving common challenges across borders through joint actions, exchange of good practices and contribution to public policies.
