Summary

The digital economy is rapidly growing worldwide. It is the major driver of innovation, competitiveness and growth, and it holds huge potential for European entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises. Unfortunately, only two percent of European enterprises are currently taking full advantage of new digital opportunities.
From a market point of view, startups are totally different from traditional businesses. Startups, so-called born global companies, begin exporting their product or services within a couple of years after their founding and may export a quarter or more of their total production.
The overall objective of the Atlantic Digital Startup Academy is thus to encourage digital startups (young innovative businesses with a high development potential, using digital and Internet technologies with a vision of competitive advantage) from the Atlantic Area to go international, the Atlantic Area being seen as a first step for startups to discover Atlantic area markets, to benefit from training to test their offer, and to start business. ADSA will thus contribute to the positive image of the Atlantic Area in terms of digital dynamism.
