The future Interreg Atlantic Area programme: preparation of the 2021-2027 period

As agreed by the Monitoring Committee in November 2019 in Santiago de Compostela, a Task Force was created for the preparation of the future Interreg Atlantic Area programme. The Task Force is composed of representatives of four programme Member States (Portugal, Spain, Ireland and France), the Managing Authority, the Joint Secretariat and the European Commission. The main aim of this Task Force is to prepare the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme 2021-2027, all relevant documents related to the programming process and the future programme structures. The Task Force has been meeting on a regular basis to define thematic priorities and allocation of funds to those priorities, until the final review of the Cooperation Programme.

A Public Consultation about the Atlantic Area Programme 2021-2027 was open from 15th March to 29th March 2021.

On the 9th of September 2022 the European Commission has formally approved today the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme 2021-2027!
