Lisbon hosts the European Maritime Day in 2019
Interreg Atlantic Area will participate on this annual event on maritime affairs and blue growth
The European Maritime Day is an annual event whose aim is to highlight the role that oceans and seas play in the lives of coastal communities and all citizens of the European Union, as well as in the field of sustainable growth and employment in Europe.
In 2019 this event will be celebrated on May 16-17 at the Lisbon Congress Centre, in Portugal. The main focus will be on blue entrepreneurship, innovation and investment to transform traditional maritime sectors and boost emerging technologies and value chains.
It targets maritime professionals, entrepreneurs and ocean leaders from Academia, NGOs, businesses, governments and public institutions. Stakeholders will find the European Maritime Day a great opportunity to connect with strategic partners, get visibility for projects, gain new insights into the evolving EU policy and funding landscape and provide input into European Maritime Policy formulation.

State of play of the first call for projects and future calls
These three days meeting will be the opportunity to discuss the state of play of Interreg programmes and the first reflection on Interreg post-2020
The second stage of the first call for projects was held from the 31st of October 2016 to the 11th of January 2017
Atlantic Area Programme participates on the Business2Sea event "Without losing North - Grow and Internationalize the Maritime Economy"

The main aim of this event is to foster relations within stakeholders with activities in different areas related with the economy of the sea.
Successful applicants can submit their application from the 31st of October (12:00 noon GMT) until the 19th of December 2016 (12:00 noon GMT)
The Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) in collaboration with the Devolved Administrations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, are organising a series of workshops addressed to the Atlantic Area Programme applicants.
The Programme Manual to apply to the 2nd stage of the 1st call is now also available for consultation and download in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.
