Fórum Oceano hosted the second Steering Committee meeting of IN 4.0 project
The IN 4.0 project consortium met in Leça da Palmeira (Portugal) on June 28th and 29th
The first day of a two-day meeting started with a visit to the Port of Leixões, guided by Luís Marinho Dias and Jorge Cabral, from APDL, The Port Authority of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo. During the visit the participants got the chance to know more about this Port, which is the second largest Port in Portugal. The visit ended with a sightseeing in the new Cruise Terminal of the Port of Leixões.
On the second day of the meeting, the partners discussed the development and methodologies of the IN 4.0 project activities and reviewed the work plan. The partnership has also established the next steps of the project.
IN 4.0 project, entitled “Adaptation of Industry 4.0 model to the naval sector” is co-funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme and aims to improve the competitiveness of naval sector companies through the adaptation of the traditional productive model towards the Industry 4.0.
The project is led by Diputación Provincial de Pontevedra, based in Galicia, Spain, and has a total budget of 2.5 million euros to invest in the next 3 years. The partnership includes the following partners: Fórum Oceano (Portugal), Bretagne Pôle Naval (France), Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland), Asociación Cluster del Naval Gallego (Spain), University of Strathclyde (UK), Foro Marítimo Vasco (Spain), Pôle de compétitivité EMC2 (France), Asociacion de Industriales Metalúrgicos de Galicia (Spain), High Speed Sustainable Manufacturing Institute Ltd. (UK).
