BLUEHUMAN Project kick-off meeting in Avepark - Guimarães, Portugal
BLUE biotechnology as a road for innovation on HUMAN’s health aiming smart growth in Atlantic Area
On the 29th and 30th January, the 3B’s Research Group from University of Minho, directed by Professor Rui L. Reis, hosted the launching of the Project BlueHuman. Co-financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, BlueHuman aims at contributing to the socioeconomic development of the area by carrying out different research lines focused on the biotechnological valorization of marine products and by-products addressed to improve medicine and health. Several prototypes of biomaterials and medical devices for regenerative medicine, as well as formulations with pharmaceutical, cosmetics and well-being relevance will be delivered, from a reinforced R&D network working for the smart growth (based in innovation) of the region.
The project, led by University of Minho (3B’s Research Group) has 13 partners from different institutions, companies and research centers in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, France and UK.
