COCKLES project kick-off meeting, Universidade de Aveiro
22 partners will meet for two days at Aveiro University to launch this initiative financed by the Atlantic Area Programme, with the aim of recovering cockle production in the Atlantic regions
COCKLES project, entitled "Cooperation for the recovery of cockle fisheries and their environmental services in the Atlantic Area", is led by Centro Tecnológico del Mar (CETMAR) based in Vigo, and has partners from the five Member States of the Atlantic Area Programme (Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland and UK).
With a total budget of 3.6 million euros and for three years, this initiative aims to recover and increase the production of cockles and the benefits provided by this emblematic resource.
