The newspaper 'Jornal de Notícias' highlights the Atlantic Area investment of 52.3 M€ to enhance the heritage

20 projects are supported to seek solutions to promote and protect the natural and cultural heritage

To celebrate World Heritage Day 2021 (18.04.2021), the Portuguese newspaper 'Jornal de Notícias' highlights the importance of the Interreg Atlantic Area programme to support the valorisation of the Atlantic natural and cultural heritage sites. The programme invests 52.3M€ in 20 projects to enhance the Atlantic natural and cultural heritage.

ATLAS.WH (Heritage in the Atlantic Area: Sustainability of the Urban World Heritage Sites) is one of those projects that through territorial cooperation and local communities intervention, aims to create a network of urban World Heritage Sites, by addressing common challenges related to the protection of their identity while enhancing their cultural assets, in order to stimulate heritage-led economic and cultural development.
