Impact of Brexit on the Atlantic Area projects
How does Brexit affect projects co-financed by the Atlantic Area? Statement of the Chancellor of the Exchequers brings further information
According to the statement of the Chancellor of the Exchequers on the 3rd of October 2016 the UK guarantees the full funding of all projects approved before the date of the UK leaving the EU. Therefore, if the UK meets its target of filing the article 50 exit statement in March 2017 and the negotiations take the planned 2 years, the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme could approve projects with UK partners and UK lead partners until March 2019 and their funding will be guaranteed until the end of the project. UK government will guarantee funding for projects that demonstrate good value for money and alignment to domestic strategic priorities.
