A new Hydrogen Triple Alliance emerged to increase green hydrogen transition across Europe
SEAFUEL is part of this 3-Interreg projects Alliance. Learn more on the webinar to be organised next 18th February
Three European hydrogen projects, SEAFUEL, GENCOMM, and HUGE, are collaborating to form the ‘Hydrogen Triple Alliance’ which will increase a green hydrogen transition across Europe and reduce carbon emissions on a much quicker timescale.
This Triple Alliance will lead to major international change and will fast track the sector coupling of renewables, allowing expansion of renewables investment across Europe, as well as the integration of hydrogen reduction and use in the energy value chain leading to even more reduction in carbon emissions..
This Alliance will integrate their resources to enlarge the Community Hydrogen Forum (CH2F) and in doing so can help deliver more benefits for European communities.
On the next 18th February the Hydrogen Triple Alliance is organising the webinar “How Can Renewables Sustain Resilient Communities?” aiming to examine how energy equity is a constant challenge for communities, especially in addressing mobility and how these challenges can be addressed through the use of green hydrogen as an energy vector.

The Triple Alliance is a merge of projects funded by three different Interreg programmes:
- SEAFUEL (Sustainable integration of renewable fuels in local transportation) project aims to use the renewable resources across the Atlantic Area to power the local transport fleet and support the shift towards a low-carbon economy. The project will use the expertise and infrastructure of the partners in renewable energy, namely solar, wind and marine, to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen as a fuel to be used by the local transport authorities.
- GENCOMM (Generating energy secure Communities through smart Renewable Hydrogen) will address the energy sustainability challenges of North West Europe communities through the implementation of smart hydrogen-based energy matrixes.
- HUGE (Hydrogen Utilization & Green Energy) aims to provide communities in the Northern Periphery and Arctic region with energy security and self-sufficiency, by utilising excess green energy production.
