Interreg Atlantic Area @ European Week of Regions and Cities 2020
The largest European regions event will take place throughout 3 weeks, in a mostly online format and with 70+ Interreg events - Register by 27 Sept
The 18th edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual event dedicated to cohesion policy, where cities and regions have the opportunity to showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs and prove the importance of cooperation at local and regional level for good European governance.
For the first time, this event will be held during three weeks and in a mostly online format, each week dedicated to a different topic:
- 5-9 October: Empowering Citizens
- 12-16 October: Cohesion and Cooperation
- 19-22 October: Green Europe
Interreg programmes join forces to celebrate 30 years of Interreg
The European Week will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 30 years of Interreg. The Interreg programmes join forces, once again, to promote the best practices of European territorial cooperation.

13 October | 09:30-10:00 | Interreg: Cooperation for Greener Europe promoted by Interact
21 October | 11:30-13:30 | Workshop "A new approach to the Atlantic maritime strategy" promoted by DG Mare
This workshop has two objectives:
1) to inform the participants about the revised Atlantic Action plan, which the European Commission foresees for adoption in the second quarter of 2020 and
2) to encourage territorial actors such as managing authorities both at regional and national level to get involved in the Atlantic Maritime Strategy.
Also AYCH project organises three events at the EU Regions Week:
14 October | 12:30-13:30 | Pitch “Youth cooperation in the Atlantic Area”
15 October | 11:30-13:00 | Workshop “New World Europe”
12-16 October | Virtual stand designed by AYCH ambassadors
This annual event is jointly organised by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR).
