Enhancing Blue growth in the Atlantic Area with FANBEST

The project is launching its first tool, the “Stock Market”

Transforming innovative blue technologies into successful business products, that is what Fanbest project aims at. Research centres, SMEs and public entities are reunited in this project to deliver online tools intending to enhance the funding of companies developing products linked to biotechnologies and marine resources applied to Blue growth all across the Atlantic area.

This month, FANBEST is launching its first tool, the “Stock Market” platform!

Lead by the University of Santiago de Compostela, Fanbest’s “Stock Market” has recently been opened. It displays technologies and innovations originated from marine and maritime resources, and with great potential for industrial use. It provides information on the technology developed, its given objectives, its financing needs, and contact of the organisation proposing the technology. By implementing this platform, Fanbest concretizes a first step in its intention to gather Research, Development & innovation entities, technology centres, companies, start-ups, and investment entities willing to contribute to Atlantic Area competitiveness on Blue growth.

Fanbest stands for Funding Atlantic Network for Blue Economy Technology Transfer, its partners have identified common challenges faced by SMEs implicated in maritime economy in the Atlantic Area, the disconnection between the business environment and the innovation system, and the difficulty for these companies to access external financing. To answer these needs, Fanbest is being developed as a meeting point between the scientific centres coming up with research results, and SMEs willing to transform this innovation into a product. The platform intends to provide Atlantic Area companies to with financing options, such as business angels, or crowdfunding, offering them the opportunity to start and scale-up their business.
