Interreg to organize workshop during the European Week of Regions & Cities

The future of transnational cooperation: what impact in a changing Europe?

A workshop on Interreg transnational projects will take place during this year’s European Week of Regions and Cities, on Thursday, October 10th, from 9.15 to 10.45, in Room Hall 100 of the Brussels Convention Centre. Titled "The future of transnational cooperation: what impact in a changing Europe?", the workshop will put the spotlight on the important work in the field of transnational cooperation that Interreg has been doing for more than 20 years.

It will feature representatives of all the Interreg projects presented in the latest edition of Panorama Magazine, including Atlantic Area-funded project AYCH - Atlantic Youth Creative Hubs. The project provides support for young people interested in entrepreneurship, encouraging the creation of startups with training and mentorship leading to the realization of their business ideas. Project leaders will highlight their projects’ achievements and challenges and, together with EU practitioners, they will discuss how to improve the programmes so they can better meet their local realities and how to bring the results closer to citizens. The discussions will focus on three key sectors of Interreg’s concern: energy efficiency, risks management and entrepreneurship.

The European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) is an annual event, taking place in Brussels from 07th to 10th October, which showcases the work regions and cities do to implement cohesion policy, support growth and increase jobs, and demonstrate the central role local administrations have in the European project. Participants range from officials from cities and regions’ administrations, academics and researchers, experts and industry leaders. This year they will join some 100 workshops, exhibitions and networking events on regional and local development. You can click here to register on the #EWRC.
