Atlantic Area Managing Authority joins the European Transnational Cooperation Conference

This conference is focused on the benefits of territorial cooperation addressing its added value for Portugal

Sandra Tavares da Silva, Executive Manager at the Managing Authority of Interreg Atlantic Area, will participate this Friday in the European Transnational Cooperation Conference at the Centre for Economic and Territorial Studies in Lisbon. The conference will focus on the experience of European cooperation and the benefits of territorial cooperation to the single states, Portugal in particular. Ms Silva will speak in a session called “The European Territorial Cooperation: added-value for Portugal” starting from 12 pm.

The conference will open with an introductory session at 10am, followed by a talk on “Development, Cohesion and Cooperation in the EU” by Guus Muijzers of the European Commission department for Regional and Urban Policy (REGIO). At 10.45, Ruut Louwers, director of Interreg North West Europe will talk about the implementation of transnational cooperation projects, while Isabelle Roger, director of Interreg SUDOE will take the stage at 11.15 to discuss case studies in transnational cooperation in the Iberian Peninsula.
