NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATION FOR THE PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF ATLANTIC HERITAGE
2016-05-25 09:04:27

Currently the Heritage concept involves collective ownership, or the common legacy of a set of vestiges of the past, which may be material and intangible, natural and cultural. However, the advent of GLOBALIZATION, has redefined the role. Neoliberalism envourages free trade and the "thinning of the State", which involves not only the recall, but also the resignation of its social responsibilities and the transfer of management of cultural goods to private initiatives under the pretext of profitability. That is why the greatest threat to cultural heritage is its gradual devaluation as an expression of a particular culture strongly regionalised, because it is dysfunctional and rootless homogenizing logic of global markets.
That is why we must generate new responses to these new challenges. One of these responses is the use of ICT and INNOVATION to deliver the iDENTITY message that the new economic framework being destroyed. One is the use of GAMIFICATION, which means the use, exposure and enjoyment of Cultural Heritage for citizens and tourists through the creation of learning and discover experiences.
