ARMADA
Pan-European Armada Heritage and Tourism Network
2016-05-20 12:16:15

Establish a Pan-European Armada network, engaging private, public and voluntary sectors and raise public awareness, understanding and enjoyment of the critical role that the international Armada Campaign (1588-1603) played and the impact that the event had on European history and maritime heritage; and to develop an innovative heritage-led tourism product (including a third-level research hub), which is recognised internationally.
The Armada Legacy marked the beginning of a shift in focus towards the world’s oceans, naval shipbuilding, seafaring/adventuring and international empire building. This shift ultimately left an indelible mark on every continent on the globe for many centuries - particularly Europe – which reverberate to the present modern-day.
