The Landscape Observatory of Macaronesia
2016-04-27 11:59:02

The Landscape Observatory of Macaronesia is understood as a reflection and action centre on landscape, as a space capable of intertwining new paradigms and new methods in addition to identifying new “territories" and new sectors within which propose research experiences in order to develop innovative hypothesis.
At the same time, we are measured by a precise geographical area: The Atlantic Area transnational scope and the institutional demand for protection, conservation and landscape management, as derived from the European Landscape Convention and European legislation.
In this area, an ambitious goal will be to make the Government of the Canary Islands, with different Governments of Atlantic Area, particularly European Observatories, other institutions and universities, among others, become a pioneer in landscape observatory roles, in a "new policy territory" and thereby the promotion of European Commission objectives.
