BizMentors
Transnational Business Mentoring Programme in the Atlantic Areas
2016-10-22 17:47:20

Bizmentors is a business mentoring initiative that was developed in 2012 to support, nurture and develop business and entrepreneurship in Galway. The concept was developed by SCCUL Enterprises Ltd. and proved to be a huge success. Since its inception it has assisted over 500 businesses and developed into a programme that covers all of County Galway. The concept is very simple, that is the provision of pro bono mentoring and support for start-up and existing SME's. The aim now is to further develop, scale and expand the programme on a regional/national/international basis. Therefore the objectives of this project idea are:
1. Expand the programme within Ireland regionally and possibly nationally.
2. Pilot the programme in other Atlantic Areas and share all the learning and experiences to date.
3. Improve and enhance the existing concept through innovations and shared learning.
4. Conduct a baseline analysis of the enterprise and business environment in each of the target areas.
5. Conduct an in-depth longitudinal evaluation to measure the outputs, outcomes and ultimately the impacts of the programme.
6. Mainstream the concept and develop a programme model that is sustainable long-term.
7. Develop a validated programme profile and dossier that will be used to have the programme impact upon and adopted at a policy level.
