BREXIT update : UK organisations still can apply for funding on the next Atlantic Area call for proposals
EU funds guaranteed for the entire project lifetime
In December 2018 the negotiators of the European Union and the United Kingdom Government prepared a joint report on progress during the first phase of negotiations on the UK's withdrawal from the European Union. This report, in particular point 71, states that the UK will continue to participate in the 2014-2020 Interreg programmes, meaning that UK based organisations will be able to continue apply to the Interreg transnational programmes and bid for EU funding until 2020. This funding will be guarantee during the lifetime of their projects. Thus, UK Government’s guarantees for EU-funded projects remains in place. All structural and investment fund projects are guaranteed, so long as they are good value for money and in line with domestic strategic priorities, even when specific projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU.
The Interreg Atlantic Area programme is going to launch a second call for projects in the first semester of 2018. Stay tuned, we will provide soon more information on our website.
